A friend of a friend from California put me on to a new Emory Douglas book of prints and illustrations. His work is just mind blowing. The vivid imagery and style of graphic design is what advertisers use today to sell their never ending product lines. Emory was an artist in the 1970’s that created powerful and vivid images that clearly communicated what was happening to people of color in America. Also if you are in L.A. be sure to check the exhibit.
